One of the first things we did when we arrived in Orlando was go to a character dinner. It was with Cinderella, the step mother, the step sisters, and prince charming. It was a lot of fun. Madison loved it. We had to go and buy a cinderella doll soon after at the World of Disney.

This is our third year to complete the 5K walk to support breast cancer awareness. I can't express how moving it is to hear people's stories and to support all the women and families affected with this disease. Madison has completed the walk all three years with me and it was Maycie's first year. It is such a nice tradition on Mother's Day weekend to celebrate women. I can't wait for next year.

This Easter was pretty laid back, being that we had a new baby. However, we were still able to enjoy family and the outside a little. Madison enjoyed her basket, and she enjoyed Maycie's too :) Maycie chose to sleep through Easter morning.

Then off to the Grandparent's house for Easter dinner and an Easter egg hunt. Lots of candy and lots of money to be had by all the kids.

Madison chose to wear a pull-up this day. She also would not leave the house without wearing her new Easter outfit which is slightly large and more for summer. Well this is what resulted. While running for eggs, her pants kept falling, and so did she. Poor girl!

Dying Easter Eggs with all the family can get quite chaotic. I am just glad that it was at the grandparents house and not mine :) Madison enjoyedplopping the eggs in the dye, but she did not enjoy eating them. Hard boiled eggs are not a favorite! The kids also frosted cookies, which Madison enjoyed eating much much more.

This Valentine's Day, we went bowling with all the cousins on my side of the family. Madison, although she does not look happy, really likes to bowl. So do all the cousins.

Bath Time Blues

So, Madison has hit a point where bath time is not going well. She just repeats no when it is time for a bath and it is such a struggle. She screams and cries the whole time I am trying to wash her. She doesn't want to get in period. We have tried morning, evenings, toys. etc. So...the latest, this weekend I am going to try bathtub paints. Has anyone ever used them? So I decided I could use some bows for the bow board, so today, on my day off, Madison and I made these little bows. Little bows are more feasible in this house...they were fun. Madison even wants to wear them. Wahoo!

So, now that Madison is nearly two years old, I made a bow holder. I have wanted one for a long time, just never took the time to make one or buy one. However, this weekend, I finally did. It may not look like much to you vetran crafters, but this is quite a feat for me! Now I just need some more bows (that Madison will never wear) to showcase on the bow holder!

Christmas 2010

Madison did not enjoy Santa this year. She would not even look at him. Maybe next year will be better. But she did enjoy her toys and her family. We had a nice Christmas at home and a little with my family. We were unable to travel to see Jake's family this year because Jake had his surgery to repair his ACL only a week before. So we missed them and were sad to miss out on time with family. But overall, it was a nice holiday.

Jake's brother and family were able to make a stop at our home or a couple of days and Madison met her new little cousin. She is the only cousin on Jake's side of the family at this point so it was exciting. Paige is such a cutie and Madison had fun with a baby around. So I am a little behind on blogging. I think like so many of the blogs that I follow, I just lost interest for a while. I love reading all my friend's blogs, I just didn't like to update my own. Madison was a sweet little duck and loved trick or treating. She made many new friends that night while out with her cousins.

I have for so long wanted to redo the kitchen, but the bids for a BRAND NEW kitchen were just more than we could handle....so we painted. I think it looks awesome and it makes such a difference. I want to be in the kitchen now and it doesn't feel like a dungeon. Jake and I worked really hard this last weekend...and we are still working on one cupboard that is missing from the pic, but what a world of difference. We love it.

This past weekend, I went and bought mads a little swing and slide. So it was so nice to have the weather to put it up and play. It was so cute. Mads want to help and she tried. It was fun to watch them put it together. Madison was so happy to work with her dad. Hopefully the weather continues to be nice so Madison can enjoyit. She loves to be outside.

Easter was a lot of fun this year. Madison was able to enjoy it more, although did not of course get the full concept. She was a blast anyway. After she turned one, Madison had her first haircut. I didn't think she really needed one, becuase she doesn't have much hair; however, Lisa trimed her bangs a little and cut some straggles off. It was funny. Then, she got to enjoy a sucker for the first time ever, coated with a little hair I am sure.

This last weekend, a bunch of us girls went down to Las Vegas for a weekend get away. It was a nice break from the weather, and a nice break from Idaho. Although Vegas is not my ideal vacation spot, it was a fun weekend. We all had matching shirts one day (odd perhaps, but fun), and it was funny to hear all the comments. some nice, some not so nice. Anyway, the first day, some of the group put together a pciture scavnger hunt, so that is what most pictures are. There are a couple of Madison in the hotel. she like sitting at the window and looking out at the fountains at the Bellagio and the rest of the strip. Good times.

Valentine's Day, Madison and I headed to my parents house to see family. My parents had a little gift for all the kids. Madison got a really cute outfit, and a new bib and...NEW SHOES. Too bad, they are too big right now. Madison and her cousin, Justin, fought over her red shoes. I got Madison a book about kisses..so cute. We spent the evening reading the book. Valentine's has never been my favorite day, but Madison sure made this year better.

So, Madison took her first real steps on New Year's Eve...then the next week or so, had no interest in trying again...so funny. Now, she is walking everywhere. She is a busy girl. She has three teeth on the bottom and some just about to break through on top...I think. I will get videos and pictures for grandparents soon. I am not good at keeping up on this blog lately. I have a child who does not like to sleep much and loves to be on the computer (like physcially on, sitting on) (which ticks off my husband to no end). So computer time is limited at my house with Mads around. Anyway..pics to come soon.

Day 13: Make co-workers gifts

My sisters and I got together today to make cute little gifts for coworkers. It is a fun challenge for me to come up with ideas for 15 coworkers. I have to be somewhat economical, but I want them to be crafty and useful as well. Anyway, I thought my current idea was pretty good. I can't share for people that I will provide these gifts will read my blog and I like suprises for people. So maybe later!

Day 12: Hang a Christmas Sash for Cards

Step 1
Start by cutting your wide ribbon about two feet long. To make the ends look pretty fold one end of the ribbon lengthwise and cut it diagonally, repeat same step on the other end.

Step 2
Now using our wall adhesive tape, cut a small strip of it and place it one one end of your ribbon and affix it vertically on a flat surface of your wall where you want to display your cards. Place another strip of your wall adhesive tape to the other end of your ribbon to keep it in place.

Step 3
Now comes the fun part, apply your cards with either the wall adhesive tape or some small clothespins onto the ribbon. The clothespins work great because you can freely move them easily to add more cards if needed. You can find the mini clothespins at stationary stores, Walmart and Target.

Step 4
If you have more cards then make another strip of ribbon the same way as you did the other one.

I can't wait to get more cards...the ones we have are so cute.

Day 10: Pick tags off an Angel Tree

At the church christmas party, our family chose four children to buy gifts for. We have two girls and two boys. We are to buy 1 boy and 1 girl each a stocking filled with fun things, and the others, thier major presents. How fun! It is so much fun to shop for children. I hope the children like what we pick for them. Mads and I will have so much fun shopping.

So Madison and I headed off to the store in search of a good present for the dogs. Of course, we chose some rawhide bones and stuck them under the tree for Christmas morning. This helps with them staying out of all the toys and tree ornaments!

So, the family Christmas cards are all addresses and ready to go. I just need to go buy stamps which is one of my least favorite things to do. I am not really sure why, but never-the-less, it is. Day 5: Visit Santa Clause

Today was the annual Muir Family Christmas Party which worked out perfectly. I didn't have to stand in line for Mads to see Santa. Santa came to the party. I was somewhat concerned that Mads would be nervous around the white bearded man, but she just looked at him, and was quite concerned with the candy cane on her present. She recieved two new christams story books!

Day 4: Write Santa a Letter

Macy's is the perfect place to drop off a letter to Santa. If you drop off a stamped letter in the Macy's mailbox, Macy's will donate one dollar to the make a wish foundation up to 1,000,000.00 dollars. So I wrote one and Mads helped with one. So not only will Santa know what we want for Christmas, we will help the Make A Wish Foundation. :) Perfect!

Day 3: Watch a Holiday/Seasonal Movie

So of course "I" found a movie about dogs and Christmas. Did anyone else watch this movie? As a dog lover, this was perfect. Mads and I cuddled on the bed and watched "A Dog Named Christmas."

It was a super cute Hallmark movie...and now I am talking Jake into taking a dog over the holiday season. We will see how that conversation goes. I have already started searching for dogs at the shelter in Idaho Falls. If anybody is interested...here is the site. http://www.petfinder.com. You just agree to take a dog and care for it for a hot time so they are not alone over the holidays. I love it.

Day 2: Get out all Christmas Music/Cd's and listen all day to get into the spirit!

Here are a few of my favorite...of course, Josh is at the top of my list. What great music. I love Christmas music and it is certainly getting me in the spirit of Christmas.

I also got the ball rolling for another activity to be completed in December, not sure what day it will be. We have started to collect cans and boxes of food at work, then at a certain date, Mt. View Hospital will match whatever is donated from it's employees. How perfect is that? We can make twice the impact with the help of a bigger corporation. Perfect! We have started collecting money as well for bountiful baskets (fresh produce) to donate to the shelters and soup kitchens around Idaho Falls. We keep hearing what a difficult time it is financially for so many. We are fortunate to have jobs and have food on our table. It is our turn to do our part to help those down on thier luck. What a great way to begin the season of giving.

Family Traditions

As it is our first Christmas with Madison, I have started a new tradition. I have been thinking about it for a few months, but then December all the sudden snuck up on me. I have been researching ideass for each of the 25 days in December, and I think I have the list together. This last weekend, Madison and I took a road trip to Sun Valley to meet some my girlfriends who helped me survive Grad School! All these girls live in Boise, so I don't get to see them often enough! We stayed the weekend at the lodge and enjoyed good food, fireplace, and gorgeous weather!

Baby Mads is growing too fast...6 months and she is crawling and now standing...on hardwood. So if she falls, which she does, she bonks, but it doesn't slow her down. She is growing too fast. It makes me happy and sad all at the same time. I just need time to slow down. Time to baby proof the house I guess!

Today was Madison's 6 month checkup. So not much fun for her today after 3 shots and some yummy medicine they shove down her throat! Anyhow...here are some of Madison's stats and things I need to write down so that I can remember

Favorite things:
*She loves the computer, so I bought her one of her own so that my laptop could last a little longer; however, she still prefers mine.
*She loves her baths and never stops kicking her legs, in or out of the bath (she is a splasher)
*She loves being outside..too bad it is getting so cold! *She loves being around little kids...she always laughs at them.
*She is loving all her new foods..except for bananas, those make her gag as soon as the spoon touches her tongue.
*Speaking of tongue...hers is always out. Always pointed, she loves playing with her tongue. *She loves her soothie binkis
*She has two different size eyes just like her mom
*She does not enjoy being in the car or the car seat, she rather be sitting up

The first week in September, Madison, my mother, aunt, and two cousins took a trip to Destin Florida where we met up with Jenny Judd(my best friend from college). What a fun girl's trip, Madison's first. She loved swimming, the pool much more than the ocean, but she was a trooper and excellent on the plane. She has traveling in her bones already! Thank Goodness.

4 Month Photo Session

I can't believe it! Madison had her four month pictures this Tuesday...my how time has flown. You really don't understand the meaning of that statement until you have a little one of your own. Madison was a little stinker for the session. She was tired becuase she had been up since 4 am and pictures were at 9. So it was just about the time she needed a nap. So needless to say, the majority of pictures taken, she has the scowl she inherited from her mother, but these sure turned out cute. The photographer caught a couple smiles!

Little Baby J is 1. My sister had his first year party at Grandma's house. The kids enjoyed the slide, a bbq, and of course, cake and cupcakes. It was a beautiful day with nice warm weather again and the kids had a blast. Baby J is such a big boy...taking his first couple of steps and eating cupcakes. What a cutie. Miller Family Reunion

Saturday was the big Miller Reunion up near Raft River. It is such a fun place. There are two huge slides you take tubes down, picnic tables, a zip line, a candy cannon, and lots of family. It was a great sunny Saturday. A little hot, Mads didn't enjoy the heat, but enjoyed seeing her aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Drew and Karen got in on the tubing action! How fun!

Eighties Night!!!

So tonight at young womens, we had a combined activity with the young men. We had eighties night, which I must say the leaders were more into becuase we all have experienced the eighties, but the girls love it too. It was so fun to see everyone's outfits. We had a lot of fun making nachos and watching "Back to the Future" and drinking rootbeer floats (I am pretty sure the floats were Jake's idea, that is his only dessert idea). Madison even got into the eighties spirit with some crazy big hair and leg warmers. What a cutie! She didn't make it through the movie, or even to the beginning, it was her bed time. It was a fun night and a good excuse to dress up.

What a wonderul Holiday! Fourth of July is always a busy time for my family. We have two birthdays on the 2nd, one on the 5th and one on the 6th. So it is a cake and ice cream escapade. So Happy Birthday to all the early July babies. Then of course the usual waterslide and bbq on the fourth, followed by the amazing display of fireworks. My mom took all her grandkids for a photo shoot in their matching outfits. It was a fun day looking for hot picture spots in Idaho Falls. It is funny the places you can find that you normally just walk by. Here are the pics we ended up with.

As we come to celebrate this father’s day, just as with mother’s day, I more truly understand the important role a father plays in his daughter’s life now that I have a daughter of my own. I see qualities in my own father that contributed to my growth into a woman that I want my daughter experience as well. My father was so supportive growing up. When I needed extra practice to become a better softball fast pitcher, he built me a big tire type swing to aim at which really helped me. He would be outside giving instructions on how to shoot a basketball a little better. He was always there to help me. It was always so important to me to have him at all my sporting events and he was. I don’t remember more than one that was missed, and the one he missed was due to weather. He was always there and would offer a positive word after a game.
My Dad is the hardest worker I have ever known. All growing up, and continuing to this day, he works a million times harder than he should to provide for his family. He has worked two jobs as long as I have been around. So although he was away all day, he was doing it for the good of his family. But he always knew when to take a break for games, recitals, or whatever was important in his daughter’s lives. He provided me and my sisters with a life full of great experiences like Disneyland, NBA basketball games, and family trips to the Grand Canyon/Las Vegas. We always had the things we needed, but because my dad worked/works so hard, we also had the things we wanted.
He continues these traditions with his seven grandchildren. They have new clothes, new bikes, vacations, and he rarely misses a game even though there are so many. He puts us up with all the family at his house playing the wii, stealing my mom to go shopping, always stealing his food, and just hanging out. The family tends to gravitate still to my parent’s house and I hope that never changes. It is so nice to be so close as we become older and grow in numbers.
I am so thankful for the experiences my dad provided and continues to provide. I owe so much to him that I will never be able to fully repay him. I hope my daughter experiences the love and support I did from my own father. Thanks for being MY father, and Madison’s grandfather. We love you! Happy Father’s Day.

Today was Madison's first time to the zoo. I think she enjoyed the monkeys the best, because they made the most noise. The weather cooperated, and the company was great. It was a nice first trip of many to the zoo!

So I do not like to put Madison down. I just reasure every second with her, so if she is not in her car seat, or the bathtub, I often have her in my arms. And my house is paying for it. I was lucky enough to have little Madison blessed on Mother's Day What a perfect gift. She was a sweetie and made it through the blessing with hiccups which was so cute. Jake did a nice job of blessing her. She is a special spirit.

It was so great to have both of our families there for love and support.

Oh I love this little girl with all my heart. She is such a doll.

Race For the Cure

This last Saturday, I was fortunate enough to go to Salt Lake City with my mom, sisters, and a bunch of thier friends to particpate in the Race for the Cure. It was an amazing experience. My sister Lisa made this awesome cake for the event.

There was around 18,000 people particpating in the event. We were in the middle of the pack so it was amazing to look ahead and see a huge mass of people, and look back and see the same mass. It is incredible how many lives have been touched by cancer, all at the race for the same purpose.

Survivors wore pink shirts and we were lucky enough to have a survivor in our pack. Linda is a breast cancer survivor. The 5K was amazing, and I hope to go down next year. So fun!

Mother's Day

Never have I understood the true and honest meaning of mother’s day until I became a mother myself. I now respect my beautiful mother more than any single person in my life. She has taught me how to care, to love, and be passionate about life. I learn from her every single day in so many different ways.
Growing up, my mom attended every dance recital, every volleyball game and out of town tournaments, basketball games, softball games, helped me get dressed for all the dances, first dates, and saw me off to college where I cried like a baby the entire first week because I didn’t want to be away from my mom. I will always remember her saying “If it is not better in a week, I will come back and get you.” I think that is the only reason I actually stayed in Boise, and of course I am so happy I did. I am sure she is too. My mom supported me six years through college where I complained and stressed maybe just a little too much. She has always been there for me, no matter what was going on in my life.
My mom has always provided my sisters and me with the gift of travel. It is in our blood. If you know my mom, you know why we each have the itch to go on a vacation every few months. We have been fortunate enough to go on many vacations together, including cruises, Hawaii, the Bahamas, and places that include a beach. These vacations have the fondest memories for me. Never a dull moment on these trips and I will treasure the memories forever. I can’t wait to include my own daughter in on these vacations and make memories for her to keep forever.
Throughout my 25 years of life, I have made mistakes, said things I shouldn’t have, not been the best person I could be. I have always been able to go to my mother even though at times I know she wished I wouldn’t have. But no matter what, she was there for me, really there for me. She has gotten me through the roughest of times, and always been there in the best of times.
I swear my mom is now getting younger. Her passion for life is increasing. She is traveling more than ever. She has better friends than ever and is truly finding herself. She is an inspiration to me and I strive to be like her. I could never ask for more in a mother and I hope to be half the mother to my daughter as she was and is to my sisters and me. She is my role model, my best friend, and my hero. I love you mom. Happy Mother’s Day. Thanks for everything!

Time Flies

I can't believe that yesterday was Madison's 5 week mark. These last five weeks have been the best weeks of my life. My daughter is amazing. She is beautiful, sweet, and so loveable. I can't imagine my life without her. She has changed so much. I am horrible with pictures...I need to be better so these ones are old. One is getting acclimated with the dogs. Luckily, the dogs are great with her. Halley loves her and is protective of her. It is so nice that is just all fell in place. Granny also came over and helped me with her first bath. She did not enjoy it one bit. We continue to struggle with baths, she does not enjoy them, so it makes me sad giving them to her, but it is something we have to do. Hopefully, it will get better and get easier. One can only hope! :)

So the other day, I came home and found three pink dogs. I could not find anything as to what they might have gotten into. I was worried becuase who knows if it was going to make them sick. Well, after much searching, I found out that it was firecrackers that Jake was doing something with. The dogs had gotten ahold of them somehow. So three pink dogs, but luckily none of them have blown up as of yet. Silly dogs!

Thankful For Good..No GREAT Friends

This weekend I had friends from Boise come down to Idaho Falls to meet Madison and spend the weekend. I have not seen them sadly for two years, which is horrible because they are such great friends. It was funny, because as soon as I saw them and we were all together, it was like we had never left off two years ago when we graduated together getting our masters. We always had such a good time and laughing was the best medicine to get through our two years of grad school.
We had a wonderful dinner at the Sandpiper and fun times catching up and chatting. we spent the morning at Starbucks in Barnes and Noble. Many study sessions were spent at the fun coffee shops in Boise. It was a good reminder of the lives we use to live and the new lives we have all established. I have missed these girls so much. Can't wait to see them soon again.

The last two Saturdays, we have had baby showers. They were a lot of fun and it was nice to spend time with everyone. Madison got so many cute things! Lots of clothes, toys, and things that will come in handy. I can't wait for her to use everything. Only 3-4 more weeks.

Baby Progress

I was finally able to get this baby quilt done. I am not sure why, but any task I have to complete before the baby comes seems like an overwhelming activity. I never thought I was going to get this blanket done, then my sister came to the rescue. Lisa is a great sewer and a pro at the rag quilts...she helped me finish it up, and fix all my mistakes, which she will readily tell you there was plenty of. I am so thankful to have her help and to have the blanket done. I love it...it turned out great!

As for the nursery, it is coming slowly but surely. My parents and sisters have been helping me...okay not helping...but doing it for me. My mom is a pro painter and my dad has been putting up the bead board. am so thankful for them. It has been a family effort for sure. It is coming along. It looks like a disaster right now, but I hope soon it will be looking beautiful for the arrival of this baby girl. Only 10 more weeks, and I can't believe it.

Today is a special day. We are celebrating two birthdays for two of my favorite people/pets in the world. One of my closest friends, Demian, and my little friend, Henley! I don’t know where I would be without either one of them.
Henley
Henley has been my sidekick for seven years now. I got him the first year I moved out of my house and started college. I actually got him when I lived in the dorms, which of course was not legal. However, it all worked out and he is been by my side ever since. He is really the best dog I could ever ask for. Pretty much perfect. He can be a little grouchy with other people, but he sure loves his mommy. Everyone always said that Henley and I are alike and it is true. WE are both stubborn, don’t like to bothered at times, and can get a little grouchy. People think I am crazy for loving dogs the way I do, but Henley makes it so easy. He is now and forever my little man! Happy Birthday HenHen!

Demian and I met my first year of college. He was there doing a semester abroad from Mexico and we met playing volleyball. I immediately noticed the spirit and aura surrounding him and the great big smile he was always wearing. I knew we would be friends from that point on, however, it took a bit longer for us to connect . We were not able to spend a lot of time together before the semester ended and he was headed back to Mexico. We kept in touch and talked almost every single day. We were able to get to know one another so well. He has helped me through troubled times and been there with me through happy times. We made it a point to see each other once a year at least. He would come here one year, I would go there. We have done a pretty good job. He was in my wedding and I hope to one day be at his. We have has some good times in Mexico…a wonderful trip that I will never forget. He is a part of my family who all love him so much. He is a greater friend than anyone could ever ask for. I am truly blessed to have him in my life. I love you so much and miss you. I can’t wait to see you! Have a wonderful Birthday.

Saturday was a great day...we had two family Christmas parties that took up the whole day. We did not get back until late...this is what we came home to.

All my Christmas presents that were wrapped are now open...all toilet paper on the roll was spread out all of the upstairs, and my Christmas Eeyore was defluffed and destroyed. The evidence is in the last picture...all in Halley's beard. It is hard to see becuase both are white. What a mess...Naughty Pets!

Joining the Club!!!

So I guess it is time to join the club. So many friends are having babies right now and it only seems right that I too join in on the adventure of babies. I am excited to anounce that Jakob and I are expecting our first in April...along with Amanda and Courtney (as I have seen on the blogs). We had our first ultrasound yesterday and found out we are having a girl. So here are the first pics of the little one...sorry not so good. They are the best I could get. There is a foot, a spine, and the face.

So I had the morning off from work and wanted to get some things done. My sister and I ran to get some breakfast at the bread store..and then to Walmart to get some apples for young women's tonight...and when I returned...this is what I came home to...all over my formal living room (May I remind you...I have four dogs). I could not stop laughing...just glad Jake was not home. He would not find it funny to have muddy footprints all over the floor, couches, walls, etc!

Well...it is the conclusion of another rocky mountain grid kid football season for the Tamayo Boys. They are so fun to watch...This was Kolby's first year in pads and he did a great job. Brenden made a couple of great catches and touchdowns...can't wait until next year. Good job Boys!

We just got back from California. We went for Jakob's brother's wedding which was in Newport Beach. It was really warm and it was fun being around all the Miller family. We went to the aquarium and Knottsberry farm which was a new experience for the Miller kids. They had never ridden a rollercoaster so that was a lot of fun. We are glad to be back...it was my first time driving in LA...that was interesting but I did okay...just glad to be back in Idaho. I love it here!

Well...this weekend was the kickoff to football season for the Tamayo Boys. Kolby and Brenden had thier first Gymboree games this Saturday. I am super excited for the rest of the season. Here are some pics of Brenden...I missed getting pics of Kolby, 8 am was too early to be functioning properly for me on a Saturday morning!
We also celebrated Lisa's big 30 Birthday at Garcias. It is always such a fun time hanging out with my sisters, mom, and friends. Always time for laughing...which keeps 30 young!

Okay so I just have to say...I was crying whent the race was over and still every time I watch it, I get goose bumps and the feeling in the throat like you want to just bawl..yes I love the olympics. I rather stay awake all night to watch, and stay home from work to watch (although I didn't stay home) I have it streaming to my computer for all the results. I have to say swimming has been my favorite, but how could it not with Michael Phelps..I mean really!

Special Delivery

Well Baby Justin finally made his arrival today, July 29, 2008 at 3:34 am at a whopping 8 lbs. 10 oz. He is a beautiful baby boy. He experienced some bruising on the way out, but he still looks perfect to all of us. I must say, this was my first full-blown experience with seeing a birth. I have a new respect for my sister who is such a stong woman, and all mothers out there. It was purely a magical experience and I am lucky to have witnessed it and not passed out. Here are some pictures from early this morning...of course more to come. I just can't resist! I love being an AUNT!

Concert Fun!

We and a nother couple headed up to Salt Lake City last night for the John Mayer, Colbie Caillat concert...it was great! I loved it. We drove home after the concert to all be back at work bright and early this morning...we got home around 3:30 am. What a crazy night, but it was a lot of fun. I love John and Colbie even more now. They were awesome. Here are some pics...not great ones, but good enough!

Relay For Life

So our first year of relaying is over! That was last weekend...and I was tired. It was so much fun. We had a great team and got a lot of walking in which made it great. It was so cold...like under 40 degrees which was ridiculous, but that is Idaho for you I guess. It was an all night event where we had to keep someone on the track at all times. The pictures of the lights...that was the luminaria ceremony which was to honor those who we have lost to cancer and celebrate those that have survived. Those are the HOPE and CURE pictures...and the overview of the track during the ceremony. I loved it...so beautiful and emotional, it was a wonderful feeling to participate in such an event. I can't wait for next year...anyone interested?
So the pictures...One is of the boys on our team riding around in wheelchairs...you have to do something to entertain yourself at 3:00 in the morning right? One is of Brenden and Grandma sleeping...they didn't quite make it through the night...
Really it was great and for such a great cause...we have already started fundraising for next year...can't wait!

Holiday Fun

So it has been a busy last week for us. The weekend beofre the Fourth, we went to my mom's work party up at Heise Hot Springs which was a lot of fun, Then I went up to Girls camp for a couplr of day and that was tons of fun, I actually liked camping. July 2 was Kolby's and my's birthday, then the fourth we had a bbq and let the kids play on the water slide in my parents backyard then off to the fireworks, and then the 5th was Brenden's Birthday. He wanted to go to Leatherby's which was fun and all the boy workers sang to him...he was pretty embarrassed but it was pretty darn funny! So needless to say it was a week of busy and fun!

Two weeks away..and we have not reached our fundraising goal. We are half way there... I want to invite everyone in surrounding areas to come and watch the ceremonies that will be happening at the Relay For Life Cacner Benefit.

July 11-12 6:30pm to 12:00pm
What is Relay? Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity to raise funds for cancer research, education, and care to help find a cure. It is an all night event with fun and entertainment throughout the night. At 6:30, the event kicks off with survivor laps and entertainment. Raffles, food, and games will be available for the public all night long. Don’t miss friends (men) dressing up as women throughout the night carrying around purses to raise money for the cause. At 10:00, the luminaria ceremony begins which honors all those who have been lost to caner, as well as those who have beat the odds and survived. Luminaria’s (bags to be decorated in honor of someone) are available for purchase for 10 dollars each. It is a great way to honor loved ones.

We have HOPE bracelets available for donation of $2.00. We ask you to spread the word of HOPE. We also are asking for any donations you may wish to provide.

Come enjoy the relay and the fight against cancer. It is sure to be a night of fun, remembrance, and a great cause.

Father's Day

So..my Happy Birthday to my nephew Dylan...His birthday was on the 9th of June. He was lucky enough to celebrate it in Seattle with lots of family. THe ohter pics are from Father's Day at the river, feeding the ducks. I think the ducks were full becuase they did not like our bread. Jake said it was becuase it was the light bread, he said the ducks didn't like it. Hmm...Whatever. It was a beautiful day on the river. I love living in Idaho Falls to enjoy the river.

Cruise 2008

Well...we are back! What a fun time! Jake and I went on a cruise out of Tampa Florida. We went to Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize, and Honduras. It was so great to get some sunshine. This white body of mine was bright red for the first few days even with pounds of sunscreen on. But I happy to say...it is now tan. We went snorkeling in Grand Cayman, Played at the beach and drank yummy pina colada drinks in Cozumel, Kayaking through Belize, and meeting the dolphins and playing at the beach in Roatan, Honduras. It was so cool. All such beautiful places. I will tell you, it has been hard to adjust the "wonderful" weather here in Idaho. It is freezing. Gosh, I miss the sun and the beaches. We met some great people on the boat and keep in touch...what fun. I can't wait to vacation again. It was good to get home and see the family and the dogs...Just wish the weather was a bit warmer! I miss the humidity too.
