Newest Family Member

Well, it is official as of Saturday, the 16th of Feburary, Halley (Baby) was welcomed to the family. Jakob had something about a new dog needing to be white...so what the heck...we now have a third white dog and people think we are crazy, but it has been fun. She is a great sleeper, and is catching on to the potty training thing. Henley is not so impressed with Halley and pretty much ignores her. Harley on the other hand is having a more difficult time adjusting to the new puppy. Harley does not enjoy sharing her toys or her mommy, but I think she will come around and be happy to have someoneto play with. I hope it happens sooner than later. Above is her first bath after coming home. I think the previous owner might have been a smoker so a bath was the first thing for the new pup. She is with me at work today and behaving like a little saint. When clients are here, she is in a soft kennel, and when no kids are here, she is running around the room and making all the other therapists fal

A Great Read

Okay...for anyone who is need of a good read, here is one. This book was given to me last Christmas by Jenny Royal, and I was always nervous to read it. I don't watch or read things about dogs that I know don't have a happy ending with the dog. Anyhow...I ran out of books...I have read anything I can get my hands on at the house. I ended up at this one. But I can tell you, I am glad I read this book. I laughed so hard about the funny things this silly dog would do and related them back to my own experiences with Henley and Harley. And I also cried harder than I have in a year...to be exact actually. It was the embarrasing kind of cry where you can't breath, loud gasps for air, think your head is going to explode kinda of cry. Of course I am totally a dog person, and even more now after reading this book. It made me realize how special dogs are to people besides myself and how they can greatly affect people's lives for the better, and sometimes for the worse. I

Jim Brickman Concert

Image
Last night, at the Civic Auditorium, Jim Brickman performed along with Silverman, Ann Cochran. and the Teton Chamber Orchestra. What a wonderful performence from all of them. For those of you who are not familiar, Jim Brickman is a pianist and a great one at that. I bet you have heard some of his songs without really knowing it. He is truly amazing at what he does. Life has been stressful as usual, and it was so nice to take the 2 and 1/2 hours that he played and just "escape" from the world and worry around me. It was the coolest feeling to be able just to zone out and enjoy the music and melody and forget about everytihng else in my life for a but. Playing is my favorite song of his..."Angel Eyes." I hope you enjoy as much as I do!

What to do with a DOG Crazy person?!?

Okay...so anyone one who "really" knows me, knows I have a problem. I LOVE dogs...and not just a normal love of dogs, but a weird obsession that just won't go away. I have Henley who I got my first year of college. I had to rescue him from the mall and all the children that would pull his hair and save him from being euthanized. He was of course purchased from a puppy mill back east. So long story not sooooo long, Henley has been with me for six years and has been through many things with me...always there to love me. Then, two months after Jake and were married, living in an upstairs apartment, I was searching through the classifieds of course under pets (the only thing I look at in the classifieds) and found a maltese for a decent price. Of course I wanted a dog forever, but could not really afford it, maltese are not cheap dogs by any means. Well, we went over that day, and came home with my little girl, Harley. Jake was even excited about it and we had a lot of fun wi
