My Little Bit of Sunshine

Another Easter come and gone. We had an egg hunt over at my mom and dad's house with all the kids. It was fun. I had to be Cooper's hunter because he is not quite up and running around. So I had to beat some of the kids to the eggs so Cooper could get some. Then we all made dinner and ate and the rest of day was filled with the Wii of course for all the kids. It was a good Easter..nice to be with the family...always full of laughs at the Muir house! No doubt about that!

March 15th, Saturday...Our ladies group get together. Though a few were missing (and we did miss you all who could not attend), it was a great time together to catch up and spend some time with some girls which was long needed for me. I miss being around girls, not that I don't love my husband, but sometimes a day with the girls is well deserved. We shared some memories, shared some laughs, and shared some recipes. Thanks for all the yummy recipes (mine and Kalli's are now posted to the right). Can't wait to get together again soon I hope. Lets just say the first part of the day was great....the second part, not so fun. As soon as the group left, my sister and I had to wash my other sister's dog who I was watching for the week. He escaped and rolled in some dirty yuckiness. I was not putting him in my tub...so the only other option was an outside bath...the funny thing is my sister is 4 months pregnant and has a strong aversion to different smells and I have a strong ga

So our house has a flat roof...which in the last five-ten years has not been a problem because we have not gotten all the much snow. However, the first winter in the house and we get more snow than we have in years...and we have sprung a leak...in our bedroom. It was the weirdest thing, the water pooled by the bottom of the wall, all held in by the paint. SO now...not only are we doing the floors, we have to get the roof fixed, replace the drywall inside the room, and paint. AHHHH! I am going a little bit crazy with all these probjects. I am a little neurotic and want my upstairs to be organized and put together...IT IS FAR FROM. A total mess, plus to top it off, I have a group of girls coming over for a get together on Saturday and a couple with 2 kids coming for dinner. Hope they don't mind the mess :)

So Jakob and I have lived in our house for about 8 months and just discovered there was hardwood under our carpet in the bedroom...well with 5,672 dogs running around our house (and chewing holes in the carpet) we thought that hardwood would be great. So we began pulling up the carpet. Yesterday, we had a floor guy come over to give an estimate of how much it would be to REFINISH the floors. He said we had fur floors which the wood is really to soft to have as a hardwood floor. CRAP!!! I mean, we were thinking this would not be a big deal and we could easily pay to have it done, but to buy all new hardwood...well with spring coming and vacations and whatnot, we just don't have new hardwoods in our budget, but we have ruined our carpet. So Jake and I went to Lowes last night and bought some pergo! Jake now has the task of pulling up all the carpet and junk and putting the pergo down. What a mess it is at our house, but I know we will enjoy the finished project. Who knows how

March 8th, the family held a birthday party out in Iona for my Grandpa. It is his 90th birthday and he is still going strong. At the end of the party, he came up to me and told me how many friends he had. It was really cute. My family was in charge of the food which was fun, but busy. We had a a great time. Yesterday, March 4th was Jakob's birthday. We both had to work all day which is a bummer, but we went to Garcia's for dinner...yes they made him wear the sombreo. After filling ourselves with yummy Mexcian food, we headed home. He thought the night was over, but at 7:45 the doorbell rang and all 13 family members were stuffed in my house. Jake had already put on his pj's becuase it was a long day and he was tired. So here he is in his jamies with all the family. I wish his family could have been here, but they live too far away, fut my family fills the house easily. So we had some ice cream cake, like we had any room in our stomachs from dinner, but we ate in non-the-less. I am not as talented as Brandi, nor did I have any time on my hands to make him a cake. Funny, two years ago was the day that we met. We went on our first date on his birthday. We spend the evening making a cake and dancing with my roomies in the kitchen. So two years since we met and what a crazy ride. H

Alright...so I have not been doing well at updating, but to tell you the truth, my life is pretty darn boring to be honest. The puppies have been a lot of fun lately....all playing together and actually getting to go outside a little more with the warmer weather. Here they are all begging for a dog treat from thier mama (down at bottom)...! The only time I can get them all focused enough at one time to snap a picture of all three. It is a difficult task becuase Henley is not only scared of his shadow...he is scared of a camera (yes for real). I am not sure what his deal is. Halley is growing like a weed...she is going to be a big little girl. Well...On Feb. 20th, my mom turned 50. I don't have any pictures...(maybe becuase she does not want to remember), but it was a nice time. We had all her brothers and sister, neighbors, friends come over to celebrate. It was a good time.
